I agree with joesdigs - it could be a toy piece jollyone.

It looks like a vintage display/holder for either a collectible egg (Faberge) or marble. Interesting find :) Breezie

Oh, Surf, I LOVE it! Thanks for posting that one. I'm not a bottle collector, but might have to have that one!

I am going to say its most likely a pewter napkin ring.

Good idea OneWetKnee. Jollyone, what is the inside diameter of your crown? Knowing the size will help to determine if it could be a napkin ring. Most of them range from 1 1/2 to 2 inches inside diameter. :) Breezie

It does look like a pedestal for some object.

It looks oval in one picture, I think it's a brouch with the inside missing, maybe a cameo ?

I'm going with the napkin ring. I thought maybe a ring to hold hair in a pony tail?:dontknow:

Coming from a mechanical background, it looks like a ring to keep space between ball bearings. It seems too crude to be anything of a jewelry or decorative nature.
I know that there are some that are made of a lighter guage of metal too.

I think Breezie has provided the most logical and evidenced identification. :icon_thumleft:
