Cru'Dads Week Day Hunts...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRU'MUM:occasion13:

As a team we are lucky as Cru'Dad gets the Summer Holidays off, which allows him to try areas & scout around whilst I'm working. When he gets the best spot we hit it hard at the weekend. The problem this year, is not only is the Harvest late but all the choices of fields are ones we have hit really hard over the years & they need a deep plough (which rarely happens). The new Roman Sites we want to try are still under crop.:sadsmiley: This is by far our worst August effort ever, but that's detecting - the start of the year made up for it!

Here is 3 days (short hunts) of Cru'Dad scouting several fields during this past week:

Only good finds were a Victorian Horse Harness Bell (I think), Roman Coin, & decorated Tombac Button.

Well good luck, and I hope for a speedy harvest, I'm missing your gold, silver and bronze coins.

I love Romans anyway they come....hahaha

We have had no Roman Silver yet this year. Plus we normally have about 200-300 Roman Bronze coins in Aug alone, instead we have no more than 20!

Like you said that's metal detecting!
I only have Few Romans, and look this year, my only roman silver is the claudius...haha

Good luck, I'm sure this year you will pass the record of Romans, I don't if it will be the silver ones or the GOLD ones...

even babe ruth struck out once in a while, cheers to crumum.

Those are somewhat meager results as comparred to what is normal for you guys.

Remember it is "hunting" not gathering.

Scouting missions in particular can be slow, which is what I did for 4 hours yesterday, and it was VERY slow.

Cool old Bell, I like any complete bell.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRU'MUM

those Roman coins are always cool to see. I love seeing the finds you guys make. :icon_thumleft:

Happy birthday to your Mum!
It's great to work as a team, most times you get better results, but this time it's only the situation not the fields! Don't worry, we sit here waiting when you hit the new sites! Nice bell!

Cheers guys

I like the button and bell! good hunt

They are a fairly common 18th C find over here, some are plain as well. Must be rarer over your side.
