I am looking at a grandfather clock bought in Western Germany in 1984. In addition to the usual moon phases it has 3 small windows in the fact that show the day of the week, the month and a number, which i assume is the day of the month. The first two include little drawings. The movement is an Urgos but I do not know the model number. I would appreciate any information anyone has about this movement and the likely value of the clock. It is like new, in what appears to be blond oak, real wood, not veneer. It was originally sold in 1984 for 2,800 German marks.

Looks like a nice modern clock. What makers name is on the clock? Urgos is usually a movement maker for other brands. The prices are all over the scale. If it is real wood and every thing works it depends on how much you like the clock. Newer grandfathers usually don't go up in value. I love clocks, but I only invest in the older ones.

It is a cool clock and rare to see modern grandfathers with "Complications' Extra features like day and date. You would have to know the maker and it is probably inside the clock structure somewhere. While modern grandfathers do not hold value, this one would sell before the others because of the extra features (Complications)
