While hunting points in Northwest Georgia in known Indian area I found this. When you zoom in on it, the design is obviously man made but I have no idea what it is. It is solid throughout any ideas or something to reference it to?
Where I found it, I have found about 8 points in the past week and too many shards to count as well as larger chert pieces.View attachment 1162345View attachment 1162346View attachment 1162337View attachment 1162347View attachment 1162348View attachment 1162356View attachment 1162355View attachment 1162354View attachment 1162349View attachment 1162357

That looks very interesting. If there is a college near you, take it to the college and see if you could get some U S history or geological professor to indentify it for you.

:hello: Welcome!

Looks like it may be made of clay?

Septarian stone?

it looks natural to me.:dontknow:

what do you think it is?

how is the design man made?

It just looks man made to me but I'm no archeologist but I haven't found anything anywhere on my mountain like it or any rocks shaped nearly like it. The patterns seem too artistic to have been natural "in my thoughts". I have been hunting on my property below Rome, it's a huge mountain with a lot of history of Creek, Cherokee and the Trail of Tears as well as a Civil War camp and hospital so I find lots of cool stuff. This piece just baffles me so I thought all of you might have an idea since you are so much more experienced and knowledgeable than I am on this subject. Thank you for all your thoughts. :-)

I have found over a thousand points and many other Indian artifacts and I've never seen anything like that. But it is def. interesting. I would do as suggested above and take it to a school with a good geology dept. and after that, if it's not natural, perhaps the State archeology Dept. Let us know what you find out.
