My second trip to dig a era 1820 yard ended up with a couple nails flat tin which looked like a flattened can of some type and finally a wheat penny , then I got a hit saying nickel at 3 inches, dug it and it was actually around 6 inches and a button, when I rubbed my thumb across the face my heart skipped a beat when I seen the Eagle with a I on its chest.
My first thought was Civil war infantry, but when I turned it over I see a seam around the edge so its a 2 piece button.. did they have them back during the civil war ?
Been confirmed it is a CW button.. me and my sons first CW relic find , WOOT !!
