CW finds, Knapsack "J" hook and sling tip from cavalry carbine sling.

Went out again after work and enjoyed this beautiful weather we had. Got to the site and wasn't finding much. Found the old feeder cattle tag and tons of nails. Went back to where the CW campsite was and instantly started to find the spencer bullets and the burnsides. Found a cool piece of lead that was flat and round(last picture)...my guess is soldier made. Then went across the field and found my first knapsack "J" hook! Pretty cool find for me. Found the back of a button a bullet and casing all right next to each other after that. I called it a day after those finds. Thanks for looking!

Edit: I was informed by CMDiamondDawg the "batman" shaped piece is a sling tip from a cavalry carbine sling. I assumed it was more modern since I found it right on top the ground! Pretty cool!

Hey man, thanks for the information. I wasn't sure what it was...thought it to be more modern since it was right on top of the ground. Granted it was a plowed field.

Awesome! It's funny 'cause I went over this exact spot a lot of times and never got it before!

We've gone over the same spot many times and still finding things that didn't come up before. Changes in the soil maybe dry versus wet.
