I went back to my field site today. It's the only site I have worked so far this year. Found my second ever Seated Dime, 1877 it's kinda used up but I'll take it. Worked a couple hours before finding the CW Store Cards, back to back. One was in with some rusty nails but the E-trac sorted it out. J. C. Knoblock heraldic eagle 1861 (obverse) Agt. Baker & Grocer South Bend Ind. the other is, I. Rees Flying Eagle 1863 (obverse) 401 Central Ave. Cincinnati Ohio. Managed another LC in the hole with 1 rusty nail, complete null on the 90 but the ID #s held pretty consistent so I dug it and found the 1851 LC, E-trac comes through again! I also found a porcelain button, flat button and a clay marble.

I think my coolest find today is the post Civil War era button. It's made by the M. C. Lilly Co. Columbus Ohio and what I found on the net says, these were coat size uniform buttons worn by the Ohio Militia during the Indian Wars of the 1870s-1880s, maybe farther West, I don't think we were fighting Indians during that period in Ohio. It is the precursor of today's Ohio State Seal.

Thanks for looking, Bill
