CZ-20 or Tiger Shark for surf ?

Would like to know which is better for gold chains, and rings in salt water surf. I have a CZ-20 now which I like. Am considering getting the 12.5KHZ Tiger Shark too if it is more sensitive to small gold. Thanx

Before you buy that Tiger Shark, test your CZ20 on a small gold chain. If it pickes it up at all you are very lucky as many detectors won't.

The Tesoro Tiger Shark is sensitive to small gold and will sound off well on thin gold chains. This also means it can sound off on small split shot. Some will say that the Tiger Shark gets erritic in the wet sand or in the water. These people must never have used a TS because it has a saltwater mode switch. The CZ20 has it's salt mode built in and it can't be turned off. The CZ6a is the land version and it has a salt mode switch like the Tiger Shark.

Sandman, Thanks. The CZ20 has a hard time picking up chains, from my previous tests. I will test again. Sounds like the TS will do it a little better, and that could mean a lot. Dave

Got an answer from a dealer.

The feedback from customers who purchased the Tiger Shark - it is excellent in fresh water, those who bought it for salt water said not good. Also said the CZ is as good as you can get for salt water..

Some that said the Tiger Shark was no good in salt water, you have to wonder if they had on the saltwater mode, and if the sens. was set to high. There is also the thing about the black sand in the salt waters edge. Some CZ's will have the same trouble but because of the preset salt mode, your stuck with what ever the tech dialed in. What if it's to strong??
