Dark green/blue Turqoise rock with crystals and a little purple

Sorry if the title didnt make any sense, but im new here and have no idea on how to describe a rock. just curious if anyone knows what this thing is? its about the size of my hand and weighs 302 grams. I have pictures if someone can help me post them. Thank you in advance.

it's either nephrite, jadeite, or slag in my opinion. Where did you find it, state, province, etc.?

Edit, it's not slag on closer exam. Still going with nephrite or jadeite though

it was given to me by my mom back in the early 80's. i believe she was living in egypt when she got it, i could be wrong though. ill post some better pics here shortly. thank you for your reply.

anyone else have any ideas. under a microscope there is a section that is a deep blue color surrounded by the green. there are alot of black spots mixed in also. any help is appreciated. thanks again.

I agree with PikesPeakCharlie. The black spots are also indicative of it being malachite as well.

Here is a pic of the inside after being cut. I agree it looks like malachite, but I don't see the layering patterns like most malachite.

A good place to start would be to check the hardness and streak color

I scratched it with quartz. It only left a white streak. but It didn't scratch it. The streak color is turquoise color.

The streak color alone would seem to eliminate jadeite & nephrite. Jade: A beautiful and durable material of nephrite or jadeite

The hardness by itself would seem to eliminate malachite. Malachite: Uses and properties of the mineral and gemstone
