Obsidian or chert. Really has taken a beating in the surf. Cool find.

I'm leaning more toward slag from a furnace. That also, essentially is glass from freed burned quartz from the original ores.

I find very similar stuff near an old iron furnace near here. I agree with smokey.

yeah that's slag evidenced by all the tiny air bubbles. I'll bet there is/was a blast furnace nearby where they used to manufacture metals
