The cold breath of winter beat on my neck while I tried to sniff out a few more targets at the park. There were a couple of areas that were frozen solid. One of them coughed up a silver after I toiled with the ground for a few minutes.

I found a few wheats and 30's/40's pennies and even a couple of musketballs. Here are the highlights.

I was surprised to find this one. This is my oldest from the park so far. -- Philip Broke Halifax Halfpenny

Very nice finds keep'em swinging congrats

Nice hunt, one has to grab anything they can now.

Wow , you certainly didn't go quietly into that dark night !

Looks good! I don't think I've seen that Halifax half penny before, pretty cool. Nice fish scale, I never get tired of finding those. How many is that for you this year?

I'm jealous that you are still hunting. It's been 9 days for me...only 150 more to go *sigh*

I think it's around 10 J Cache. :)

Thank god for YouTube videos... They'll get us through the winter.

Any park giving up tokens would be on my list, the modern coins would only be the gravy.

Glad you are persevering, and the season is hanging on for you!

Ten! That's great. Haha, I hibernate and watch those vids allll winter long

Ya squeezing out the last few days of MD'ing here too. High temp 30 with a 25 mph "cool" breeze today, and I will be out there trying to pull from the ground my last few treasures for the season!
Think about it this way, all the freezing and thawing in the next few months will be moving those underground goodies up closer to the surface, so in the spring we have a new crop of goodies! But then videos are good...sigh

You are absolutely right there MsBeep, we have to look at it as a blessing.
Gio, great looking nickles, I love those fishscales they are sooo tiny.
ZDD

Nice finds....winter has arrived here -27 this morning.

14 here, but its a dry cold lol......................the dog wont even go out!! "Are you ready for some football?"

great finds. I like 'em

Glad the date was readable on your oldest. Sweet day in the park...

Great finds! It's prime time for us Southerners. Especially after deer season ends Jan 1, then all the woods open up. (Sorry to rub it in)

Very nice hunt...looking like are day are numbered...got out today too with small result...funny I was in the field ready to leave and my very last target of the day was the best sounding, however it was like chipping at cement...ended up being a beer can...sums up my year overall...but next year will be much better!

36 shivering degrees outside right now in Texas......and I have been debating all day whether to go detecting or not.......not finally won.:laughing7:

Glad you were able to bag some nice coins!

@Patriot .. Next year bro. We shall get out!!!
