darn kids!!!!!

I bought my 11 yr old daughter a metal detector <cheap bounty hunter 116.00> She loves it. I took the kid to the beach with the wife and me, along with our DFX and XLT. As my wife and I are carrying our combined 1000.00 + equipment, my daughter yells out "I found a coin but im not sure what country it is from". I took the coin in my hand assuming it was an old washer or something and rinsed it in the lake. As the dirt came off, I can see the words "one cent" on the back. Pretty soon I have an excellent 1848 large cent in my hand!! Ofcourse the thought of telling her it was nothing and placing it in my pocket crossed my mind. I have a new respect for the people that dig everything now. Maybe we should all go get 99.00 radio shack detectors and "dig em all". Darn kids...just wanna choke em sometimes. hahaha. Has anyone else been showed up by the lucky little darlings?

I feel your pain....I always say they are closer to the ground than me..which is why they find so much more!!

I bought my son a cheapo Bounty Hunter for Christmas ($99.00). Turns out he hates MDing so I kept it anyway and used it when my Minelab went into the shop. It worked great! I almost liked it better (don't tell my hubby) as it ID'd things better. LOL!
