Dates for 40% silver halfs

Can someone tell me the range of the 40% silver halfs? Is it 65 thru 69 or is the last year more recent than that?

It's 1965 - 1970 I believe.

GLH....the pre 65's are 90% silver also....Franklins...Walkers...Barbers...

In reality the last ones made were much more recent than that. Some bicentennials were also struck in 40% silver, and they started striking some proofs in 40% silver also, starting around 1992 I think. Many of us have found some of those recent silver proofs in circulation. I think I have found a total of 5 or 6 myself.

The recent silver proofs are made of 90% silver. This includes the Wash Comm. and the 98-2007 proofs from the silver proof sets.

Is ther a way to tell the 40% bicentennials from the regular ones?
