Yesterday we finished section 3, we started section 4 today which is the lower slope. Spent 3 hours in the hail & rain but who cares about that.

Dad started well with a 1853 Silver Shilling.

I later sneaked out a Hammered (2 in two days off this field is a minor miracle, takes us to 10 this year)

Henry III
1247-72
Voided Long Cross

Lead token
17th century brass token cancelled with a square nail throw the centre
Tiny lock
2 bag seals
2 Oz Pan weight (Victorian)

I'm not going to bother to look this time :tongue3:

You guys out in England sure have a lot of potential for finding old stuff. Good going on the shilling

cool silver finds . would love to detect there

Glad to see you got another Hammered!

Old Henry Three wasn't much of a ruler--I'm more of a fan of Henry One despite his undignified death from eating lamprey. :tard: :D

Congratulations, Crusader! I'm happy to see CrusaderDad got a bit of silver as well.

I'm more a fan of the Saxon & Viking Kings but never find them :'(

I was quite hopeful about this lower section, & Cru'Dad was his normal doubtful self. Until he found the Shilling, then he predicts we might get a hammered that day. Then it was me being careful & say 'I think we will get a hammered but not today'. The rest is history :D

Cru'Dad as you know likes finding but gives all to me. However the Shilling will most likely end up in the farmers collection. :)

I will have a day off today as I'm close to relapsing into my old detecting injury.

Nice finds!!! HH, Mike

Very nice finds Crusader. That tiny lock looks so small, I can't imagine how small that key would be for it. :icon_scratch: Neat find.
