Spent 3 hours (6 man hours) on the Big Grass Field before we got bored & decided to try another field which had been hayed recently. Picture 1 is all we found on this field.

Spent another 2 hours (4 man hours) on another field which I have done OK on in the past. However having covered it all before & it not being ploughed, the only difference today was the nice soft clay from all the recent rain. Therefore hoping for a few missed deeper items. (Picture 2)

We did get a Georgian/Victorian Lead-alloy horse boss (rosette) which is in better condition than the others which came from ploughed soil.

Roll-on the harvest, I can't take much more of this punishment :P

So cool I love the big buckle. Congrats. Thanks for sharing.

Chill out Crusader, have a break why not spend the time looking for better sites. Farmers are more liable to give permission this time of year when they're not too busy and stressed.

However bad that field is, we need to finish it. By the time its done, the harvest will be here. I looked at the Barley fields & they are ready before the rape this year :icon_scratch: Good for us, as barley stubble is workable but rape isn't.

Sounds like you guys had gotten some nice items out of that spot!

Same situation for me. I am pleased with how many cut fields I'm seeing right now but we haven't had any luck finding the right one.
