Went on our local MD club's monthly trip to a town that dates back to the 1800s and hit some vacant lots. Interesting finds are the 'Police Brace' which looks like a suspemder clip, a heavy round object that looks like some stock certificate stamp except that the words on it are normal and not backwards as one would expect for a stamp. It reads 'Standard Ores Corporation', Incorporated October.xx, 1929 Nevada'. I googled it but couldnt' find anything about it. Found a 1901 dated shotgun shell head and a tent string tightener. Also got a token that reads, 'Silver King Novelty Company, Indianapolis, Ind. Apparently, a local business would buy an arcade type game for their customers to play while in their store and this was one of the tokens that were used.

This is AFTER tumbling just for clarification.

Nice bunch of finds - The Standard Ores piece looks like a stamp used to emboss the company seal on paper (official documents. etc.). Similar to the seal used by a notary public. That's why it doesn't appear backwards.

Yeah I was thinking wow look at how clean that stuff is!!!

What do you use in the tumbler to clean with???

I would say the Standard Ores Corporation thingy is a commemorative medalion. These were normally lead-alloy like yours (which would not be very suitable to prints with) & were popular in the early 1900s. They normally commemorated famous events etc...

Fishtank gravel, water and a tiny bit of dish soap
