Hey everyone,
I decided to dig a little iron in one of my old cornfield hunting spots where I found a lot of relics from the 1700-1800s. I came up with this odd looking piece. Is about 4 inches long and the one end is coiled up:icon_scratch: The other, arrow looking end is looped and has a hole underneath it. I was thinking some sort of decoration but I'm quite stumped!
thanks
~CC

Just when you think everything possible has been found, someone comes along and posts something new and unique. I have no clue what your piece is but it certainly is interesting. Hope someone identifies it soon. I will be watching this thread. Thanks for the pics.

If there's a hole in the coil end it could be a gate latch? Tony
