Dectecting in the Florida Keys

My wife and I will be staying in the Keys for Christmas. From your experience, is detecting allowed and if it is, what if any restrictions are there. Any help would be appreciated. I have checked with the Florida State Parks information center and was given a general "Yes, but check with the individual parks". I was just curious what your experience was. Thanks in advance.

Recently detected the public beaches on Key West, had good luck there. Did not try the parks, let us know what you find out.
