Went to a spot that has been pounded for 20+ years with my GPX 4500. I have not used this machine a lot but the conditions were right. Once getting the signals down I started digging bullets over a foot down. Only problem is deep iron nails sound the same as a bullet. Needless to say it’s exhausting digging deep holes but I turned up some keepers and a flat button. The Enfield is stamped “57” in the bottom. I’ll probably go back and try some more once the grass is cut. I also spotted a broken arrowhead tip on the ground. The arrowhead was a heart breaker. I’ve picked up a couple points and a tool from this location in the past. Thanks for looking and happy hunting. Nice bullet finds! I've only found a couple Enfields with a mark inside them they are always a welcome find.

I have postponed, rethought and procrastinated on buying a gpx for just the reason you lay out in your post. Yes. It is good at going deep BUT.. it likes nails and iron. I don't know if I want to dig many 18" holes for a nail. I guess with current technology- as the depth ability grows, the resolution weakens and that is just the way it is.

I purchased the GPX because I was able to attend a DIV. It was a great experience and good time but I primarily use my CTX in the area I hunt but the GPX has been able to grab some relics at a great depth.

Congrats on all the lead,, it's no fun to find broken arrowheads.
Maybe next time.

Nice finds RiverRat. Thanks for sharing...

Nice instant collection!

Nice haul!!!

Not knowing how well a GPX4500 is with pinpointing, but a posthole digger would be faster with the deep holes.
