Deep Into The Forest

I was on the same mt creek today, but I went deeper into the forest, & I brought along the bigger rifle.
I saw deer bones, large boulders, concretions, pretty wild country, & found a base of an Arrowhead in the creek, probably from the "Caddo tribe' who lived in this area, also a 'blaze orange cap' hanging on a limb, didn't find any human bones, so kept moving. :laughing7:

I used to drink from these mt streams, but they are seasonal, in the summer just a few deeper holes have water.
The only trout are below the larger dams, the closest being Broken Bow lake, & AR is becoming known as a 'Great Trout area', those waters are the only ones being 'cool enough for trout'.

Very nice fossis. And I'm glad you took a picture of the "smelter rock". The one with the concretions(?) There is a website trying to say there was a Phonicean smelter in ancient Oklahoma because of rocks like those. Nice find on the base of that point, I finally got to walk for awhile and found one too. Sigh, more snow coming today up here. Isn't all the lichen a wonderful winter sight? During the drought a few years ago, it was all crunchy and dried that last winter before it started raining again.

Thanks, As I said in a post on 'Treasure Signs', if Phonecians made these, they were awful busy because they are all over the mts, & some so large they would fit on a flatbed truck, I was invited to go see one with Gloria Farley author of (In Plain Sight), a book about carvings & Ancient finds in North America, it was about 4' by 8', & was made to look like a checker board, we both gave each other a 'look', because we knew it wasn't carved by man, the softer sandstone wears away, leaving darker, harder lines & patterns.
Yeah I dread the snow, we have had quite a winter this year.

Thanks, we have had a dusting, 3", rain, rain, & more rain, & more snow expected tonight, I manage to get out between the weather patterns. :P

Cool pics and a great little hike it appears. Maybe you should go back and rescue that 'ole boy, as he left his hat so he could find his way back out of the woods. :laughing9:

Ever since a mountain lion 'stalked me', I always look around, (then take pic's).

Thanks, the more i think about that, maybe he hung his hat to make it look like someone was hunting the area, & others would go the other way, that's what deer hunters usually do. (but deer season was in nov). :dontknow:

Every time I go out I usually find something odd, strange, or curious. :P

I remember you talking about being stalked that is why you carry a gun with your camera, I would have to do the same! But, here I have not heard about any bears this far up just cats to watch out for and only bob cats ! But, the way they are movin no tellin whats out there now, never had skunks or coons at my home before but now !! :dontknow:
