Deer camp points

My 4yr old son and I were out at the deer camp near Newton, Tx for a father/son hunting trip today. We sat through the morning and not seeing anything decided to walk down the trail to see if we could spot any tracks. I was scanning the ground and spotted the first point. 50 yards or so down the trail I spotted the second. My family has hunted on this land for 35 years and have not found a point, so even though there broken it was special to me. The darker point is local petrified wood not sure about the second. Any ideas on the type?

Nice finds, I can think of 3 different people from your area that might know what you have if they happen to stop by. I always keep the halves especially the bases. Once in a while you can find the other half and fit them back together

Nice deer camp finds. I just had logged 350 acres and found one broke thus far. Hopefully more will show when we water bar the roads.

Broke or not you can still see the form, the flaking, and the material, nice finds. The lighter one looks like it may have been a knife the way the barb on the one side has been worn away

Both of the bases have an identical slight twist, I’m not sure if it was on purpose or just the way the stone worked. I’m sure Garscale could ID it right off if he stops by.

I read something where scientists were extracting microscopic dna from arrowheads and could trace it to the animals that it was used on. That would be really interesting.
