On this day in 1992, Def Leppard released Adrenalize—their first album following the loss of guitarist Steve Clark.
Rather than replace him in the studio, the band pushed forward as a four-piece, delivering a record that carried both weight and momentum. Vivian Campbell (ex-Dio, Whitesnake) would soon join the lineup, appearing in promo videos, though he didn’t play on the album.
Adrenalize debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and also topped the UK Albums Chart, proving Def Leppard could still dominate on a global scale.
