depressing box

That's rough! I only got a single wheat in one of my weekend boxes.

You sure do get a lot of Canadians though! I only average about 1-2 a box down here in South Texas.

averaging about 50 per box. now down around 40. not too fun

that is low for your recent averages.....better luck tomorrow!

Welcome to my life here. Best penny box I've ever had contained SEVEN wheats. I'm used to finding only one or two. This is why I don't do many pennies anymore.

Hi AG Ive never tryed a penny box too scared of solid 2011s. How are the cwr pennies youve tryed? I would think they might have some good possibilities

well to be honest today yeilded 50 from the other 2 boxes. but the last was brinks... and gave me nothing. but canadians. tomorrow will be better.

and to answer your CWR question. they are hard to come by. other then my dumps at 4 banks before i found the coin counter.

yeah that was a lousy Brinks box alright. But your other boxes you have been getting have been great - have all those been String boxes? I hope you can still get more of those boxes. :)

HH

all my string boxes are awesome. it just vary's sometimes. my other brinks boxes gave me 2 indian head cents which is awesom. and the last brinks i opened gave me a 1906 so i was hoping for another.

hopefully i can get a few more nice boxes before the weekend

You still got 22 Canadian pennies . I usually tend to find some wheat pennies in a box, but sometimes I'm out of luck. Keep searching and maybe you will find some awesome George V cents.

0 wheat pennies

and yes I didn't forget to put a number before the zero

How many coppers do you usually get per box? Or do you even count/keep the copper?

If it makes you feel any better...I got 10 boxes last week and 4 of them contained no copper pennies/wheats. Those were all Brinks boxes.

That's what I'm starting to get worried about. I'm hearing more and more stories about brinks culling the coppers and leaving us with all zinc boxes. :(

Better get 'em while you can folks...

Those stories are just that - stories. Brinks doesn't cull anything. If you get all zinc boxes then you are just downstream of someone with a ryedale.

I hope you are right. So far I haven't seen it myself. Hopefully I never will.

Brinks is most definately culling copper from boxes. I think it depends what area of the country you're in but there is no question that this is indeed happening.

I remember seeing a post on realcent forum about an investor signing a contract with Coinstar for $5 million FV in copper pennies. Brinks has the necessary equipment to cull coppers (the patent is online), so it really is only a matter of time... They wouldn't being doing it for themselves, they process coins for their customers, and this is a service I am sure they would be willing to provide for an additional fee.

My penny boxes last week were the worst ever, roll after roll of zinc.

...I no longer get cents from banks that use Brinks. As of right now Loomis still seems to be A-OK!!

if i had the money i would collect copper but i sure don't have that money. my percentages last i looked at them were around 40 %

40% is a great %. Have you thought about checking around to see if anyone is buying. Maybe you could be selling the copper for a little quick easy money instead of dumping them. Maybe you could get $.015 each or so if you could find a buyer - I'm not sure. That would be a quick 50% profit but I know the total $ amount still might not be too much since they are just cents. Just a thought. :)

Good luck & HH
