This is for an item I posted in today's finds. In that post I asked a question. I figured that a what is it post would be a great place for this. The markings on the item are "Sterling T1675". I would like to know if anyone is familiar with these markings or knows exactly what they mean. Also there is a mark, like a stencil, as follows: depressed rectangle with a circular object embossed over the middle, then a calligraphic character depressed into that. Am still attempting to ID the character. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have searched as many keywords as possible to figure out what the item history and manufacturer was.
A couple of leads strike me as being a 'Tiffany' possibility. Not sure if Tiffany's endorsed any boxes like these. Thanks in advance.
