Desert Flowers

Some flowers do grow in the sandy soil deserts of western Nevada. I took these around Sand Mountain off hwy 50 east of Fallon. I also look for chips or flakes of any microcrystalline minerals as those can be evidence of the peoples of the past, but didn't see but a few tiny pieces, but the beautiful plants can be a joy to admire, as they go through their transition with the drops of rain that fall for a short time. You need to stop and get out and walk around to view these wonderful little plants, as from the road it all looks like miles of nothing, but sage brush.
