The only land we found available was an area of about 1.5 acres that used to have a large earth mound on it. It was associated with some nearby construction work (new road) & it had been returned to our landowner (minus the mound) but too late to drill a crop. It had become a bit weedy but was just about workable.
The first 2 pictures are what we found as well as tons on construction waste from the messy workers.
4 hrs 15 mins:
2 Scrappies
Roman Partifact
Large Iron Key
Trashy Lead Token
18th C Cuff-link with Ship (see this posted on Tnet but not had one before now)

We then moved to some small areas of failed Wheat & went up some larger than normal Tyre tracks, this produced:

Will III Sixpence (Love Token) - So scrapped in a silver
Crotal Bell
16th C German Jetton
Lead Token with 'JR 1781' 8-)- Pretty rare to see a date on a Lead Token. Pleased with this & my token guy might be able to research it.

Hard times...with still silver! :occasion14:
I hope for a strawberry field which will be poughed under next week. Nothing to expect, just to get out with the detector...

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Cru,

Even your desperate times are better than most of my best days. I appreciate you and Cru’dad taking us along on your adventures. I read a little while back the silver totals you posted, by chance do you have a button count. I would guess it would have to be in the multiple of tens of thousands by now. By the way, how many years have you been detecting. Keep up the great work - I always look forward to reading your posts. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

Cru'
I would love to hear more about the dated token. .
What would tnet be without you?
Always nice to see your finds!

We only starting count buttons for fun when a US visitor wondered how many we get, so yes about 21,993 (since 2009 when we first started counting)
I've been detecting for over 30 years & Cru'dad for about 15+

Good stuff Crusader. The gilded button in the first pic is quite nice. Loving the William iii sixpence too.
