We got about 1.5-2” last night. Really wanted to get out today. Any advice about detecting after heavy rain? Should I wait til tomorrow?
Honestly I used to find my deepest targets after a good rain. Some detectors get a little chatty with water in ground but if u can listen to.ur machine and take ur time u can find some good deep targets.

Me too just make sure anything thats not water proof is covered. It is muddy digging but I do it alot My detectors water proof so a quick rinse and its all good

I don't really think it would make much difference. You'll still have plenty of conductivity tomorrow.

Agree with above. If anything my detector goes deeper after rain.
Only problem is mud on the shoes, the digger, the probe, and the coil.

In my opinion, the only difference is how dirty you are going to get. Either way you will get dirty so enjoy getting out while you can.

Just dont make the wife wash those muddy close than youll be shut down lol if you have a better 7/8s

After a rain, I love detecting the sand and dirt. It seems to work better.

Beach is different, but I look forward to a rain w/o lightening to hit the popular beaches because I know the rain (also cold and high wind) will keep people away and allow me to do my business...in more ways than one! Also agree w everything above and it does go deeper after a good rain.

Went out and didn’t find too much, but took the clad I found to a soda machine to launder. It spit out dollar coins and (I think) a Washington $1 proof. Glad I went out.
