Detecting in the heat at the beach...

Well, around 3:30 this afternoon, I asked the boys if they wanted to go to the beach and of course, the typical Beach Bums they are ... said YES!!!!

So, we get there, pay $5.00 for parking. We get out and start walking and there was a young couple pushing a stroller in front of us. I happened to look down (as I always do...I'm very short and closer to the ground, so I tend to look at it alot)...but I looked down and saw some paper, looked again and it was a $5.00 bill!!! Well, parking turned out to be FREE for me today!!!!

Actually, Lincoln was looking at me with those beautiful baby blue eyes and said, "If you take me home, you can keep me!!" What a man!!! I wonder if he does dishes?

We find a spot on the beach and boy was it crowded!!!! Wall to wall folks, every where!!! I figured by about 5, they would be leaving....oh heck no....they started leaving about 7:30-8 pm....but I did get some detecting in and today was DIME day...got 22 cents in pennies (no wheaties, but got a 63 and 67, the oldest ones), $1.30 in dimes, 30 cents in nickels and $1.75 in quarters. It was like every step was DING DING DING DING DING DING DING...(catching breathe)...DING DING DING DING...you get the picture

That metal thing looks like its part of a safe and looks like bullets were fired at it. Atleast that is what hubby says....cool though, none the less.

Well, going to bed early tonight...."EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM!!!" Got to get there long before the sunbathers do!!! I did not find any jewelry or real old coins today, but I was saving all those for the morning ...told the kids, "If when you wake in the morn and I am not home....tell Dad to load ya'll up in the car and bring you to the beach, cause I ain't waiting for anyone in the morn...Momma is outta' here!!"

Any day at the beach is a good day in my book!

You gotta be there when the tide is at it's lowest point and hunt right down by the water to get the good rings and avoid most of the pulltabs / random junk!

Keep it up and I hope to see some gold from ya tomorrow evening!

That metal thing looks like its part of a safe and looks like bullets were fired at it. Atleast that is what hubby says....cool though, none the less.

If the metal part has a taper to it, it is part of nose fuse assembly for shell or bomb. The nose is rotated and set to a number for time delay to explode in mid flight. It may have been exploded in ocean military practice 50 years ago.
