Jackalope flew in from Califorina, we planned a hunt for the next few days on my farm permissions. I don't have a total but we found a good amount of flat buttons, few whatarethey's and a couple old coins. I'll let him tell what he found, I found a beautiful 1864 Indian Head Cent. All I have to do is let it soak a little more in distilled water, nice green patina on her. I also found 7 or 8 flat buttons (I think one might be a modern screw head, not sure yet) The one button has a RA and a 2 on the front, I don't see a backmark. If anyone could help with an ID I would be greatly appreciative. Weather turned out perfect, I hope it holds out for a few days while he is here.
Enjoy the pix

Nice, I will post up in a bit.. that 16oz fillet has me in a coma right now.. lol. What a fun day. Tee shirt weather hunt..

Holy **** you found a 2nd Regiment Artillerists button!!! That's a rare button buddy. 1811-1813 if I'm not mistaken. It's also worth some dough if you don't screw it up while cleaning. Big congrats brother

Yep, just looked it up. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1482883271.108283.webp

I knew the info off the top of my head because I've found that button. Mine is in slightly lesser condition though

Congrats on a great button and other nice finds

Congrats on the Regiment of Artillerists! That's an excellent early US military button. I have 5 different War of 1812 artillery buttons, but don't have that one!

Awesome button Brad! :occasion14: I dug an 1812 Artillery button today (AY36) and I was texting with Steve and he told me to come check yours out. Just awesome man. Looks like you had a great hunt and we sure had some great weather today. Looking forward to your next post man.

For a minute there I thought you dug a love token Brad. That's a pretty Indian, cleaned up nicely.

Very nice finds, love the button! :occasion14:

I have only put it in distilled water, nothing else, light tooth brush. In the field I seen the letters and had that feeling it was something special. I babied it from then on out.

Man you're into some really good dirt.
The button and IHP are beautiful.
Congratulations

Thanks brother, it's a hay-field, I'm thinking not as much fertilizer?

Congrats on a button we don't see very often.:hello2:

WOW Brad! As soon as I saw that button, I thought old military button. Congrats on a really sweet score.

The IHC is really nice too.

Glad that you got to hunt with a TNet buddy.
