I hear that not a lot of people own a detectorpro wader, I have owned this unit for just the little over a month and I like it a lot. I chose this detector because of its lightweight, all the electronics are in the headphones. This detector came with a 8 in. hardwired coil, the coil wire is also shielded and very durable. On one side of the headphones you have your clickable control knobs for volume, discrimination and sensitivity, the other side of the headphones opened up for the two nine volt batteries. The headphones are waterproof only up to six feet, they will take submersion but no diving. This detector has only one tone, no different tones for different types of metal. But you get used to a clear sharp tone for the good stuff, and a distorted tone for all the others (I hope that makes sense)I'M still learning to distinguish between good and bad stuff! There is no low battery indicator, the owner's manual says 50 hours for the two nine volt batteries. I use rechargeable batteries and recharged them about once every month, I can only detect on the weekends. I have used this detector on the beach, in the fresh water lakes(not a pi unit) ,and in the parks with pretty good luck for just starting out. Mostly I just enjoy the adventure!
