Ahhhh .. the internet! LOL!
The best source for mis-information available today.

If CD-RW's are "multi-layered" don't you think you could and would use
those "extra" layers to increase the CD's capacity?
The only "multi-layered" disc I know about is the DVD - Double Layer and
they are expensive compared to the single layered DVD's but hold twice as
much data and require special DVD hardware.

I think you are a bit confused about what you have read on the internet.
That is understandable as It is very confusing with all the different CD
discs available now.

Can you tell me what the difference is between a blank data CD and a blank
music CD .... besides the label?
Hint .... it has to do with money!

There is no difference between a data and music CD.....also as for CD-RW's, the drive can only read one layer at a time, that is why the capacity isn't increased, when you want to write to the disc again (other than appending to the disc) the disc has to be erased...in effect burning off the top layer so the next layer can then be written to

Does anyone know anything about the VR12000? I have been reading about this machine and it sounds real good it seems to answer all my questions, but most of the machines sound better than they are. Please, send me a PM if you have any problems with this machine. Thank you Pebble

You'll have a LOT better luck starting a new thread with "VR12000" in the title rather than pulling up a 14 year old dead thread on DVDs.

Just a suggestion.

You might want to put it in "Long Range Detectors" as well. That gets a different sort of clientele.
