I have been using my Deus 1, ws5 with the 11"x35 coil for about eight years and am still on the original batteries. Lately I have been thinking about upgrading to the Deus 2. My question for those of you using the 2, is the upgrade worth it?

I finally pulled the trigger in the fall.
Kind of wished I had in the spring but I usually wait till the dust settled.
I ran the 5x9" HF coil on the Deus 1, and walking over the same ground with the Deus ll it pulled out many more recoveries.
85% Less iron digs over the D1.
Target ID very impressive.
Separation in iron was the key in most of the sites.
Open scattered areas, it's a coin toss on if it's better.
Then again most machines are capable in open scattered environments.
Still learning it, but impressed by it.

Going up to 52F today with rain. But still nearly a foot of snow to go.

In a word, yes.

I also say yes.

To expand on the "yes", it has better separation in iron and clearer tones. It seems to have more depth and I found a really nice civil war buckle at depth on edge. I haven't used it too much, the knees are going.

It's a multi-frequency detector of course it's worth it

I had the Deus 1, 5 years and two sets of batteries if that give you an idea of how much I used it.. Went to the Deus 2 and never will look back.. Good whereever you want to use it.. Download the manual and read up on it..

I will never dispute the price of anything if its performance justifies the cost. But in metal detecting it seems significant cost for very little improvements, 500 or more can you justify it.
