DFX 12" coil problems?

can anyone out there help me with a 12" coil issue that I'm having. I bought a new/used 12" coil for my whites dfx. my problem is that the chatter is none stop with the 12" coil and the machine works fine with the factory coil. Ive been detecting for many years but DO NOT know the ins and outs of this machine. should I be adjusting my sensitivity(75)/pre amp gain(3), or do you think that there is a possible issue with the coil?


any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

If you are trying out the new/bigger 12 " coil inside the house ..it probably picks up more EMI than the stock 9 1/2' coil.

field tested, it chatters weather I'm in the woods, out in a field and even at the beach

When you tap the coil with your hand does it beep ?

i'll have to put the coil back on and try it. i'll get back to you. do you think that it may be the coil?

yes i think it might be... one coil should not act (That much differently) than the other, maybe a call the White`s is in store.
