Just saw the DFX300 on the whites homepage. Looks like nothing more than a DFX with a 12" coil.

All the features of the original dfx seem to be the same. If not, they aren't saying what changes have been made.

Other than better EMI protection I can't think of what improvements could be done for the DFX. It's depth with the factory preset programs was not very good because, according to Whites, they were more concerned about ease of use for someone new and stability then depth. They figured experience users will make the adjustments to make it a deep seeker. By adding the 12" coil you gain from 2-3" which should put it on par with their competitor.

Same thing with the MXT.
12" coil (300mm?)

Hi Massbaycolonist,
The new 300 series models are on the Whites home page. MXT, DFX, and the XLT I think. Just added a newer larger coil and changed the model#.
Does'nt appear like they changed anything else.

on kellyco it says that it's a "special limited edition metal detector". does anyone know how long or how many they are making?

There are two changes to the Whites DFX. First change is the new 12" coil and the new Updated, matte black finish. The tough-as-nails baked-on powder-coat finish White’s made famous, now with a rich, matte look. Very cool! It is something like the Rino Linening for a truck bed which would make the detector pretty tuff.
