Did I find AMBERGRIS ?

I found this on the shore while digging clams today in Maine . Yes , I sniffed it , It has a pleasant smell , similar to Crayola Crayons or a # 4 Barbie Doll head .

Both are great finds! Who throws something like that away? That Barbie case is in great shape and it even still has the cardboard boxes that came with it too. Parcel that, all of those outfits and accessories out piece by piece to make the most money.

If that is ambergris, that is a nice "chunk" of change. Better yet with your fine sense of smell maybe you should just keep it and go into the perfume business for yourself.

I dont think so but I could be wrong, I cant see any chiton or squid beaks in it. Its hard to tell from the pics. Try the hot needle test. Boy.... its hard to tell. Now looking closer I might see some squid beaks in there. They should look like cat claws strewn throughout the chunk. I might be able to tell with some more pics.ive been collecting it for years and it comes in every color, shape, and form. It looks like hair in it. If thats the case its some other form of dung. Good luck !! I hope you scored !! Usally you can send a gram to the buyer for verification, if its good they'll credit you for the gram if they want to buy.
