I was at a local park outside of a large pavilion when I got a 53-54 hit on my ATP.

When I went to cut the plug I found it already plugged! I figured someone just left their
trash in the hole.

Upon opening the plug there was nothing in the hole. Imagine my surprise when I pulled
this out of the dirt flap! 14k gold with 14 diamonds!

I think the band part of the set was in the bottom of the hole and the previous person
just closed up the hole and continued. Perhaps he did not have a pinpointer and could not find the
target??

Anyways.........THANKS FOR NOT CHECKING THE PLUG !

Bad day for him, GREAT day for YOU!!! :hello2: That ring is awesome.
Congrats on a top notch bling find.

Sort of reminds me the time I dug a junk ring in a hole. I almost walked away but checked again and there was another ring in the hole. This time silver. I checked again and another signal and pulled a 14kt ring with a large pink stone. I then checked again and just a few inches away was a fourth ring. I assume the were all lost at the same time. Lesson for everyone....rings can come in pairs or more! Always check your holes.

Must have been in a hurry. Even before I got my pro pointer, I scanned the hole before I left just to make sure I didn't leave a great ring like this behind. Congratulations on a great find.

It's mine....JK.....sweet!

Too funny!! I check my plug as soon as it comes out of the ground, before I re-sweep the hole.

Well, his/her loss is your gain. Especially when it involves a ring of gold with diamonds!!!!

Congrats. And you didn't have to dig much! Pays to do it right the first time! Losers weepers, finders keepers!
Hopefully who ever it was now has a pin pointer and the habit of rechecking the plug/hole.

Wow, that's crazy! I don't have a probe (nor depth indicator) so first thing I always scan is the plug itself--Great find!

if the person only new, thay would be kicking them self..congrats to ya...:occasion14:

Never fill in a hole until the source of that repeatable signal has been found then check again! Way to go man for being thorough an not stopping just because someone else dug the hole already! I know it's said a lot but this is proof that "ya never know"

Wow, what a wonderful find. I always check my plugs, and especially if the whole is empty. But even if it's not, ReScan, Rescan after every dig.

Congrats on the fantastic find..

That's awesome, Just imagine the look on that guys face if you could tell him!

Maybe someone dug a hole and put that there for you to find. They felt sorry for the crazy guy walking around looking for coins. :tongue3:LOL sweet find

I always check the hole, plug and around the hole before filling hole back up again. amazing what you can miss.

Very nice! Its amazing what some people miss sometimes....good for you!

Amazing! kind of proves their is a god of detecting. some guy broke one of the cardinal rules and hes punished. tough god !!! Lucky you!!!

Great find. I remember years ago getting a hit, pulling out an Indian and having to check the hole 16 more times. The last of the 17 coins was a Barber half. It was my first Barber half and I haven't found a whole lot more of them over the years. ALWAYS double check the plug and hole. Do it with a pinpointer as well as your machine.

Maybe They Lost The Ring While Digging The Hole haha
