I have lived all these years and did not know this------ Don't any of you tell me you knew this and didn't share it!!!! Was this something we were supposed to learn from our Mom's????? I can't believe it's been there all this time. I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time. Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it, and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out, when I was trying to cover something up. I'm sharing this with my friends. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this . I know you're going to go and check your boxes, so go ahead! Both ends!

I had no idea. Thanks wd!

You learn something new everyday!

Its a poor day that you dont learn something. Also please tear the saw off the box and roll it up and stick it inside. I have a BAD scar on my right hand from pushing stuff down in the waste basket and sawing my finger really deep, The doc said ,oh zippity cut rite when he sewed it up. B

I'm speechless......

I had to go look....generic aluminum foil...got it...plastic wrap...got it...freezer paper...got it...

My wax paper does not...what's up with that?

You'd think....as observant as we become detecting and how keenly our senses are....how did we overlook this?

Hey...thanks for telling me Sue :tongue3:....any other home tips for the bachelor???

We go through life with our eyes closed.

I can spot a foundation a quarter mile away in the woods.....but not a tab on the end of a box right under my nose...

Yep...eyes wide closed....lol

1. Brown sugar, after opening keep it in freezer so it won't stick together in clumps.
2. Buy ground meat when on sale and cook it up, divide into little freezer bags. When making a meal that uses ground meat, you just saved yourself time cause the meat is already cooked.
3. Keep aloe vera gel, the kind used for sunburns, in the refrigerator. If you ever get burned apply the gel and cover loosely gauze, it will also draw out infections. Do NOT apply to 3rd degree burns, cover with clean gauze and seek medical attention. Also never use ice on burns it will cause the burn to go deeper into the skin layers.
4. If you have any pots or pans that are stainless steel, use "Bar Keepers Friend" to make it look new again. It is also good for cleaning counters, stove and glass. You can find it at almost any store where they sell Comet.
5. To remove microwave stains, pour a cup of water into a microwave safe bowl, add a tablespoon of white vinegar and a few drops of dish soap. Turn it on high for five minutes and then let sit for another ten. When the time is up just wipe away the stains and build-up.

Okay...now most of those I knew but not the one about cleaning the microwave....gonna go test it out right now! lol

Had a bad accident with a lye tank as a teen. Fortunately the freezer was open at the BK where I was working alone cleaning the place late at night. Basically slipped and took a head first dump into the tank.

Grabbed a bucket of pickles, dumped it over my head and threw pickle slices on my eyes. Drove to the hospital. Docs say it was an uncanny way of neutralizing the lye, using the acidic pickles. Probably saved my skin, literally, according to the Docs.

They still did the pinned open-eyes flushing torture for a half hour. Then greased and guazed my eyes, led my hand to sign the right papers in the right place, then said, "Have a good night." After standing there for a few moments, I started hearing them giggling across the room. Like, where I was gonna go?!?

Who said ER Docs don't have a sense of humor?

Well, I'll be a son -of a------! Didn't know that daddy and I've had a zillion of those rolls pop out in my lifetime! Thanks! Monty
