I know someone mentioned that high impedance is good for sound quality on MDs. Does that mean more or less battery life on your detector?

I have Gray Ghosts Ultimate now for my Minelab X-70 but previously had the Ratphones for my MXT, mainly to deal with background noise. I like the GG a lot though. Comfortable for my fat head.

I got a new pair of RatPhones 2 weeks ago. Used them for over 4 hours this past weekend. What can I say? They were great. They look great and are the most comfortable I have ever had. Great sound. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

SunRay Pro Golds for me. They are very comfortable and have no problem wearing them for extended periods. Oh, I can hear every little whisper.

Re: Differences in Headphones? What's everyone using?

I use Koss ( impedance 100 ohms) and Blackwidows ( impedance 150 ohms).

Re: Differences in Headphones? What's everyone using?

I have been using pair of soft com aviation phones,100 ohm impedance
I turn off the active noise reduction and pick up very faint signals nicely,
and the earpieces are very effective, maybe too effective at sealing out ambient noise.
Looks kind of funny with the boom mic attached, though.

Dont forget about the limiter built into metal detecting headphones. You can look it up. Ordinary stereo headphones do not have this circuit. Keeps your eardrums intact
