Dig Wars, full first episode and teaser clips from the first 3 episodes.

My biggest problem is the Excitement factor.
I am always excited (inside) when I find something special,
And will even stop & call my Hunting partner over, or walk to him in order to show it off.
But I don't jump up & down & scream over finds .
I know they have to Magnify their excitement for production,
But this is what irritates me even more then any other part.
======

the $50.00 collector Value put on the 2 Cent piece was exaggerated imo.
$20. Believable $25 maybe.
$50. ? maybe to the uneducated newbie collector.
But still OK with me compared to the jumping around in public
over a rusted piece of metal, discarded or lost.

They still are as enjoyable to watch as the "Diggers" are.

& as long as they don't drop to the level of boombie baby,
I'll watch

last nights show .

Sad they had to hunt in the snow & frozen ground :( & the comment the digger's shovel can't be Broke ? I would break it :laughing7:

as for being afraid of the Hunters ? they were using shotguns,
& probably a good distance away. Shooters don't scare me,
although with it being hunting season isn't bright orange the law ?

Editors take note :laughing7:

I can't believe they missed Larry's Comment :o

he made his speech about warming his battery up calling it snuggle time.

& I take it he either had to do several takes, or he was proud it only took him one.
But at the end I'd swear he swore :laughing7:

The editors didn't edit out him saying " f**k**n Nailed it ! that was funnier then crap "
had to replay it 3 times & that is what I here :o

of course I don't know..
is that allowed these days ?
maybe tv's getting an open mind, I don't know

He actually says "freakin nailed it" his accent threw you off

Ron, how did you/producers get permission to dig Antietam and Fort St. Phillip?

I know all the cast - most are friends
Larry I think had connections for Ft Phillips
Josh had connections for Antietam I think

Wow Casper!...I doubt our projects were related but it does seem coincidental. I was also asked to do a show based on water hunting. The production company that contacted me had some big shows on the Travel Channel and Animal Planet. There was a lot of communication but the whole project hinged on "the other guy". I guess he said no because it was dropped. At that point I offer up a new concept and shift the whole project to land based hunting. They liked it and communication started again. They had me work on episode ideas and build some teams, then it was time for contracts. The contracts, however, never arrived and now I'm kinda glad they didn't. I have a feeling they would have looked similar to yours and I would have had a problem with that too. Then, if you've ever thought lightning doesn't strike twice, a second production company contacts me and uses me in an existing reality show. This time I'm not playing the part of a treasure hunter and its only a one episode appearance. Watch for me this Fall on A&E. I'll be the "expert" they come to for the appraisal. :laughing7:. I might post more info about it when they tell me I can. Since they already filmed my episode I've now experienced the reality of filming a reality show. The producers do, in fact, push for you to overact or act silly then push and push for you to over-inflate values. Overall it was a fun learning experience and the people I worked with face to face were super nice. It's the editors I didn't meet that I worry about... LOL ..With the amount of footage they took and the way editors can manipulate clips, I'm almost afraid to watch it.

I was writing for a magazine at the time and sent them copies of my articles
had skype meetings online with them for hours - picked my brain - gave them tons of ideas we could do - I was possibly going to have a partner now and then - but planned on traveling all over and trying to hook up with other TH'ers - which I thought would be cool
they wanted some funny stuff - I said I can come up with that (Im a wise guy and a joker)
they wanted some bickering - that would probably have to be scripted
and they wanted the WOW factor - Had they did it with me last year - I could have given it to them - I found 72 gold rings - made a few returns
found some relics and when I did not get the gold - most times I pulled alot of silver and some guys I hunted with got some awesome finds too
-one of them got 71 rings - so it would have been interesting - but I brought up the ethics of detecting - burying holes - picking up trash - doing a good deed now and then - and thats when they started looking at the ceiling and making calls while I was talking - they wanted to see the Bling
they wanted that WOW factor and if Icould not supply it - they would and thats where I change the contract and probably blew my shot
cause emails and calls came fewer and fewer from them
I did have a few others contact me too - some guys that did work on the Diggers called me and one guy mentioned maybe hooking up with them on Cape Cod show - cause I was doing good out there - he said another guy was supposd to contact me - never happened
I really dont want my own show - I have a government job and would not leave for somehting that might last a few yrs - I wouldnt mind being in an episode of one though

Well Ron, I'd have to say I'm pretty jealous that you got to hunt Fort St. Philip......I've wanted to get down there for years, but I don't know anyone with a boat bigger than a pirogue, and there's no way I'm crossing the river in one of those!
