Garret AT pro
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Went to the nearest park after the rain softened up the soil a bit. I decided I was going to dig every signal above 45 on the pro. Glad I did as this merc was ringing up in the 60s instead of the normal 80s. The 20 peso coin rung up in the 60s and when I popped it out and saw $20 along with the gold color I was very excited, then I flipped it over and saw the Mexican coat of arms I was a little disappointed.

Also found the nicest buffalo since I started detecting, you can actually make out the date! (1932) Does anyone know what the doodad in the top left corner is? Lead with a steel nail and a bit of wire? Also met a nice woman who invited me to check her yard.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice finds. The AT Pro is such a great machine. Congrats!

When in a park, I might use disc but like you did, you find the goodies when you back off on it. Years ago I posted here of a buff nickle I found next to a hole someone dug. 1922. He must have thought it was junk and did not see the buff so he moved on. He wasn't wearing his glasses, I guess. If I remember correctly, I found 28 wheat cents, 4 mercs and a silver quarter on that corner lot in St.Frances, WI that summer. They cleared the topsoil off the lot in preparation for construction. I only found one zincoln on the lot. ╦╦C

The lower tones (28 up) on the At Pro has yielded much gold for me in past years. Of course, you will dig a lot of trash too! I have found gold rings and coins between (28 - 69) on the Pro!

well now I have something to look forward to! I left a few foil signals after digging up lots of gum wrappers. The gold I've found rung in the 50s-high 60s but I'll bet I've swung past some before.

If you want to dig more gold, you MUST dig the pulltab signals! I don't know what the ratio is but after several tabs, you get the pleasant, but expected, gold! ╦╦C
