I found this in a plowed field that has produced things from Spanish Reales to pop tops. Just wondered if anybody recognized it and could ID it as something other than a piece of old crappe that registeres as a good solid -24 and should have been left in the ground. ;D Leverite??

Thanks,

Daryl

My '71 Corona had one of those on each end of the engine to hoist it along the assembly line. I'm pretty sure I've seen 'em on the front of pickem'up trucks for tow chains, too.

Pretty generically useful item for anything pulled or lifted by chain.

About what I figured but I had to ask. It could have been a stabilization point from a Revolutionary war cannon carriage. Just can't trash stuff before I ask.

Thanks,

Daryl

If the hole is threaded it is a nut to hold a plow on a georgia stock you used a hammer on the hook part to tighen or loosen.
