I want to purchase a digital scale to weigh the little bit of gold that I'm finding. I looked online today and I was amazed at how many different manufacturers and styles of digital scales are out there. I didn't have any idea there were so many sizes, brands, shapes, etc. Wow. Talk about confused, I am.

Can someone make a suggestion on a good, accurate, tough/reliable and affordable pocket sized scale?

Thanks in advance.

For your own personal use 0.1 +-gram electronic el cheapos work good enough, but for commerce/sales 0.01 is mandatory. I just bought a pharma scale which is 0.001 accurate enclosed in glass and way cool tool-tons a au 2 u -John

John is correct as always! and it has to have repeatability. if it dont weight something the same twice it isnt any good, except for your own curiosity! and that only comes from the more expensive scales.

With gold at say $1650 each 1/10 (0.1)=+- $165---1/100= +- $16.50 ---and 1/1000 =$1.65. All scales are +- so you can now easily get branded a thief very easily over +- $16.50 because if the other guys scal reads on the minus side and you weighed in on the + side even 1/100= $33 soooooo care is needed as we are all prisoners of science and our technological restrictions. When gold was $300-500 no big deal but now--holy cow you are talkn' cash-tons a au 2 u 2 -John
