I have not been getting out at all lately. Work, family, and the summer ending has kept me sidelined pretty much since my GW button hunts. Anyway, I went to a new permission for about 5 hours and dug about $20 in clad. The site itself has been in continuous use for 150 years so I needed to cut through the crap to get to the good stuff. Surprisingly there was no big silver. Overall a very productive day;)

Update: just counted - This puts me over 200, to 203 silver coins for the year. Lol

That's a killer hunt Steve. $20 in clad is a lot of digging, but these keepers were well worth it. Don't see a dime quadfecta often... never seen a quinfecta... and a sexfecta would be as awesome as it sounds :laughing7:

I've been spending too much time in the fields lately looking for Colonial stuff... have a new permission at a nice Victorian house. A few silvers and indians would be a nice change of pace.

I don't know exactly how much clad I dug really, I was being dramatic I suppose lol. I was actually hunting for colonial items here since another site of mine, across the street, had produced Spanish milled and cobs. I was secretly hoping for spill-over.

Great hunt Steve.
You need to be more great full for your finds. You know there staving kids in china???

The fact is I was starving for silver. And this puts me over 200 for-the-year! Lol.

Looks to me like you broke into your local coin shop !

Lol. Our coin shop is the ground and what we find money can't buy, and has more value to us than what it's worth.

A Nice haul indeed Scrappy.
$20 In clad ? That'a a-lot of Digging , I assume you were also digging the Zincs 'Hoping they were old buttons etc,'.
A site or 2 like that & I'd be living large.
Davers

Oh yes, digging the lows too. Hoping for a GW, but the odds are against me I suppose. I dig zincoln signals since they could be IHP's or that elusive flying eagle I'm after

Shaggy, you have some of the best sites! I love that pic. I would frame it and put in my man-cave and stare at that ALLLLL Winter!
Awesome.

Those quads are very difficult to do as you know Steve. Nice job on all that silver, and on your year-to-date totals which are mind-boggling!

Thanks Bill. The funny part is I found 75% of all my silver coinage this year in pursuit of colonial goodies. It's a wonderful thing! God I love this hobby

Nice digs! Sounds like you had a great workout with $20 in clad!

Very nice hunt and such a great variety. Wow!

Bart, it was quite a workout. Hey, good luck tomorrow with Charlie. Save a few signals for me as I can probably get out next Sunday.

Seriously!? What a mondo pile of silver there haha! I can relate to clearing the crap to get to he goodies. I have a spot that's been used since the 1890's, and I spent a long time clearing out the junk to get the deeper signals...it's worth all the work!

Super Nice Digs Scrappy!! Awesome hunt for sure.. :occasion14: and :notworthy:
How did you VDI numbers ring up for the Indians and the silver nickle.. they still elude the CTX coil...

The Indians have rang up in a rather large range. I usually get them around 12-30/31/32/33/34 but have gotten them as low as 12-27 for the "fatties", and 12-38 for a 1900's one once. That info is based on probably a couple hundred Indians I've dug with the CTX.

The silver nickels have all rang in at 12-14/15/16.
