Strange things happening. Last night went thru 2-boxes of dimes, pulled only 1 & 3 Rosie's, however not a ONE 2009 P or D. Since I've been pulling the 09's, anywhere from 4 to 10 per box over the past 2+ years, the quantities have really dropped off drastically. Is anyone else in this big country saving 2009? Could I be possibly drying up my district (Brinks & Garda) in my immediate area?

I don't search dimes anymore but I search nickels and I save the '09's too. My last box had 3 '09P's which is probably about average for what I've been finding the past few years. I didn't really start searching nickel boxes till around early 2010. I think I mainly started getting nickel boxes to try and find the '09's because I remember seeing a sold auction on ebay in Dec.'09 (I still remember this) for one circulated '09 nic that sold for $4.10 - one circulated coin. I couldn't believe that. I know prices aren't nearly as high now but I think circulated '09 dimes and nic's still regularly sell for more than fv on ebay. But I really wish I could have gotten some uncirculated '09 roll or boxes back then.

"Only" 1 & 3 Roosies from 2 boxes? That's 2 silvers per box avg, better than most on here find. I get less than 1/box on average. That's why I don't do dime boxes anymore. Throw in all the solid new boxes & it's not worth it for me to search them.

I don't look for the 2009 nickels or dimes, I wouldn't know how many I am passing over. I've only found one 2009 dime over the years and it was one that fell out of my hand, I found it by accident. haha

2009 was an unusually low mintage year for coins, esp dimes, nickels and cents.

Went thru two more dimes boxes last night(Fri. 3/21/14), only finding 1-2009 dime while scoring 1+3 AG Rosie's. I swear that the 2009 mintage small coins are going to be on the semi-key endangered lists sooner than expected.

I was going through dime rolls just trying to complete a clad set (1965 - 2013) to go with the silver set (1946 -64) that I bought years ago for $11! The 2009D was the last one I finally found. I've got several P's, but just the one D. Only found one 09p nickel, no D's in circulation so far.

I hadn't realized the 2009 dimes were minted in such low numbers. I'll have to start looking for them. I keep all the 2009 Lincoln cents, just guessing that the four unique designs will eventually gain collector interest.

don't swear, swearing is bad.

I just checked the dimes in my coin jar. Sure enough, no 2009s.

To all you guys with the honest reply to the low findings, thanks, but just keep in mind; wouldn't it have been nice to saved back then thru CRH - rolls of 1950-d nickels, rolls of 1955-s cents, rolls of 1938&39 D&S nickels, YES. Coulda, woulda, shoulda back then! Still time to get on the band-wagon while the music is still playing with any of the 2009'(s). I'm set with cents & dimes, not able to find but only a few nickels however.

It sounds logical, but consider this... collectors were aware early on of the low mintages for the 2009 coins, and therefore hoarded them in large quantities. Few have remained in circulation and therefore many AU and better examples will remain in existence. This will limit the eventual value of the coin. It's a similar situation to the 1883 V no cents nickel. So many were saved that its now the least expensive in the series despite having a much lower mintage than even the 1883 with cents.
