Re: Diving for Treasure

I see Andy Matroci back there. He was the first diver to see the Atocha. Whenh he came up he said "I saw chests of silver coins as far as the eye could see."

Re: Diving for Treasure

Capt. Andy is Still running that operation, and knows what hes doing. He can identify anything you bring up.B

Re: Diving for Treasure

In the back row, standing on the left are Tom Boesch and next to him, "Wild Bill" Burt. Andy Matroci is at the right end of that row. Don't recognize anybody else.

Tom

sounds like fun, I heard they take paying customers, any idea how much ? do you keep what you find ? group dispersal ?

Ahhh, my friends also. know all those guys and been on that boat many a time. Party with several of them down in the Keys each year.

Go to the "Dive the Atocha" tab www.melfisher.com and do it while you have chance, as like all things it will not go on for ever, and and you will only regret it in later life if you had the chance and missed it " One Life - Live It "

"I WOULD RATHER BE DIVING FOR LOST SUNKEN TREASURE"-- EVEN BETTER THAN FISHING! A BAD DAY HUNTING FOR LOST TREASURE BEATS A GOOD DAY IN THE OFFICE.

google mel fisher investor relations- they have a link there for those who want to dive.

I would like to know if they are still finding stuff. Anything at all.

My understanding is that some artifacts and treasure were found during the recent division week. You can keep up with news and finds on their Facebook page. Some other recent recoveries here:

Stuff from the Atocha was so scattered after wrecking, by a second hurricane the same year, it probably never will be completely worked out.

What's the cost for being one of their "investors" and doing one of these dives? Their website doesn't say, so I'm assuming it's probably pretty expensive.

The minimum was $12,500 last year not sure if its gone up again.

Not sure there is a limit. You are allowed to keep what you find up to like 6 times the value of your investment. Yes still finding stuff.
