I found this in my yard where I have found a few bird points and other pieces. I am still new to artifact hunting. I mainly metal detect. So I'm not to sure if this is anything or not but it sure looks interesting. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.

Looks worked a little bit. Might be what is called a preform or a test stone. Test stone is something they would of tried to use and just checked to see if it would work and then depending on the quality of it they might of kept it for later or if it wasnt good enough just threw it away. A preform is one they would of kept for later. Does it have fine chips removed on any of the edges?

Looks like debitage from the knapping process.
That was probably a piece of a much larger supply stone.
It looks like it may have been used as a cutting tool for a quick job.
