I'm at my lake place.....there's about to be fireworks.

Big parade of boats, some turd blasting music, and stops from time to time to read a list of fallen local soldiers on his PA.

Don't get me wtong, I don't have a big problem with that, but they're from the Vietnam War, Iraq, and Afganistan.

He's also playing all kinds of "American" songs from recent periods and wars in history.....No fife, no drum, no Yankee Doodle.

Isn't this INDEPENDENCE DAY? Arent we celebrating the REVOLUTIOARY WAR?

If you play songs and read a list of fallen soldiers from any other war.....Wouldn't that be on Memorial Day?

Or am I mistaken?

It's known as the dumbing down of America.

The new CEO of Nike (Coleen Kaepernick) believes the first American flag is a symbol of racism. Go figure.

Heros and Patriots, they suffered greatly....

They actually really did.

And today we celebrate with fireworks invented by, and today ~99% are still made by the Chinese.
Thanks to President Dick Nixon

Well to be fair A#1, we ain't celebrating the war.

What we are celebrating is the begining of a country where every person's equal natural rights have been acknowledged.

Equal natural individual rights. It was, and is, a revolutionary concept.

I remember growing up it was an event in any town I lived in or around, today Billings, Mt does not celebrate it. Laurel 12 miles away, a much smaller town does with a parade and concessions, the whole ball of wax. Billings the largest city in Montana has nothing, it is just strange.

I celebrate our freedom on the 4th of July and everything that goes towards maintaining it.

Memorial Day...well it always makes me wonder when people say "Happy Memorial Day"
Not much happy about it when you think about it.

I put my flag out this year and I only saw one other in the neighborhood do the same. Every holiday anymore is a big reason to sell you something with inflated hype. One things for sure I didn't go to the mountains where everyone else around me headed to.

God help us all.

I fly my flag, and won't allow any Nike products in my home (that's easy though, because we never bought them to begin with) ! Pertaining to the person in the boat with the megaphone, I'm sure he was of the younger generation, which isn't being taught proper history in the school systems, and hasn't been for many many years.

I celebrated my “illusion” of freedom. [emoji631]

I get your point, but I'd say your down playing what we have in this country compared to the rest of the entire planet (which is a pretty big place).

Hmmmm maybe their families were due some Reparations.....
