I sure as heck don't, and will probably only watch any of it by default as nothing else will be on. I'd be surprised if more than 1 in 10 Canadian gives a damn (hockey is the one) and I'll up that to 1 in 50 for the US.

The Summer Olympics I watch a bit more mostly for the boxing and even that's a pain as the coverage is too random.

I like the free-style down-hill skiing (the one with all the jumps and flips, etc, and the agony of defeat).

Other than that, not so much - the 100 mph luge is sometimes good. But I really hate that they are taking up all of the evening NBC programming (NBC this year).

Yes, that would be a much better way to spend the money but the problem is it's better than just about everything else that goes on in the world too.

I would care more if they had an event for downhill racing on a piece of cardboard. I could do that one. (They actually have that event sometimes over here at Copper Mt. sometimes. Not Olympic sanctioned.) What we hear up here in Summit County is Lindsey Vonn may not do anything if her shin doesn't heal.

I'm all for them. I enjoy watching all the winter Olympics. There is not too much of the summer ones that I like to
watch. I stayed up last night to watch all of the Grand Entry and the opening exercises and the lighting of the
eternal flame It was a fabulas event and enjoyed every minute of it. It was the best one I have ever seen and I've
watched most of them for several years back. Canada really did a great job with it.
It was about 12:30 by the time it was over but it was worth it, as far as I'm concerned.

Without looking I'm guessing that was the Atlanta bombing. For some reason it's one of those things I remember where I was.... in a bar and seen in on tv. It was just before I moved back to the east on Aug. 2nd.
