Do you dig deep signals?

The problem with deep digs around here is that after about 6" you hit red clay which is nearly as hard as concrete! If it's wet it sticks to your digging instrument like glue. I have been doing a lot of detecting down in the sandy river bottom just to get away from that retchid clay.

Here in Clay County Missouri, you hit red clay if you breathe too hard.? Okay, okay, so they named the county after Kentucky statesman Henry Clay, but we got red clay just half an inch under the top soil.? Well okay, so maybe it's deeper than that, more like two inches, but it's thick stuff, for sure.? Okay, so maybe it's not as thick as concrete, but it's thicker than Jello or shampoo.? The fish really was this big, too.
