I'm just getting started but I went to one bank (the first one on my route to in town) and they said I had to have an account. My next stop was the bank I have a business account with. They offered to order me boxes, as many as I wanted! I didn't even have to ask! They said only one other person (at that branch) had ever asked for boxes and he stopped several months ago. They place orders every Tuesday and Thursday and will automatically place one order for me until I ask them to stop. I return all of my coins to my main bank which is a credit union. They have a coin counting machine which doesn't cost me anything to use. And I'm returning the coins to someplace other than the place I ordered them from. I'm hoping that's a good thing.

Banks being very happy to sell you coins, but when it's times to cash them back in, they all of the sudden turned pissy... i.e. Oh you need an account sir.... so i dont need an acount to buy, but i need one to sell ? This is starting to really gets on my nerves when i want to cash in the coins i searched.

Your in Canada, didn't you hear Parliament passed a law outlawing Coin Roll Hunting as a subversive activity.
All Canadian banks are to notify the proper authorities immediately upon believing anyone is engaging in this activity.

I would move ASAP

On a more serious note, it sound very similar to what many people here hear from US banks accept they hear it in English and not French.

LOL. That's one hobby that actually doesnt cost you anything (besides time) and you can actually profit from it. Anyway when i got to a bank i'm always wearing dark shades and a helmet, maybe that's why ? ;p

Here's another way to look at it: would you also be upset if you walked into a restaurant and asked for a free meal but was denied? Would you be upset if the local gas station denied you free gas? Essentially you are asking the bank for free service. You shouldn't be upset when you don't receive it.

You need accounts at the bank you plan to dump at, even your pickup bank. Makes everything alot easier.

Kaynos, dumping is the hardest part of crh and you need a strategy to make sure you can dump when you need to. Most coin hunters have multiple accounts to facilitate ordering and dumping. If opening an account keeps the bank happy and allows you to dump on them, then that is what you should do. Jmho. HH

I just tell them to deal with it and throw bags of coins at the tellers. (Bank bags i got free from tellers)

Some banks dont even give out large amounts of coin to non business customers.

I love how that light has a 12V charger for the car.
Nothin like hunting on the open road.

Best part of where i live is that i have about 15 dump banks within 10 miles. I just make sure i keep rotating and always take my whole stash when i go on a trip. Got 200 worth of pennies on the way to a friends and dumped majorly on the way too and when i dump halves i always play dumb to a wondering manager like "ohh yea i heard about some being special or something but im not too worried about it. You can have them after i dumb them to be counted." And they always grab a few and do a side check.
